Newbridge achieve the School Games Bronze Mark
We’re delighted to share that we have been awarded the Bronze School Games Mark for the 2024/25 academic year, recognising our commitment to sport, competition and physical activity. This Government-led award, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust, celebrates schools that go above and beyond to promote sport both in school and the wider community. We’re proud to have met the criteria across participation, competition, workforce and clubs.
Our sporting achievements this year have been outstanding. We were crowned County Champions in girls’ badminton at Key Stage 3, District Champions in Year 9 and 10 football, and saw success in Years 7 and 8 at sports hall athletics. Beyond competitions, we’ve offered a wide range of clubs including football, rugby, netball, dodgeball, badminton, running, athletics, cricket and parkour.
We’ve also run a Sports Leaders programme for Year 9, supported students through the Duke of Edinburgh Award, attended Trust-wide events and taken pupils to Loughborough University and College for enrichment opportunities.
A huge thank you goes to our students for their dedication, effort and enthusiasm in PE this year. Their commitment has been exceptional, and we look forward to continuing this success in 2026!
