GCSE Results Day 2024
This year at The Newbridge School, we were delighted to report a fantastic collection of GCSE results, highlighting the brilliant progress we have made.In English and Mathematics – the key core subjects – over a third of our students (34.4%) achieved a grade 9-5; this is a 63% increase from the results in 2023.
Elsewhere, strong success was enjoyed in GCSE Religious Studies; the average grade across the cohort was 6.6 and 80% of students gained a 9-5 grade.
Those studying Hospitality and Catering made excellent progress, as did those undertaking the three sciences – Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
There were also multiple stories that highlighted the hard work of multiple students. Jack achieved six 9s, one 8 and a Level 2 Distinction* in Sports Science. He is going on to Ashby School to study A-levels in Maths, Physics and Business Studies.
Thomas collected two 9s, four 8s and two 7s and will also study A-levels, choosing History, Psychology and Religious Studies. Meanwhile, Lexie is off to study for a T-Level in Business Management after securing three 8s, two 7s and two 5s.
On the results, Co-Heads of School Mick Rowbottom and Mike Gamble said: "We are immensely proud of our students at The Newbridge School for their excellent GCSE results this year, setting a new record for the school.
“Their fantastic progress and the high percentage of students achieving Grades 9-5 reflect their hard work and dedication. It was a joy to celebrate with them on results morning."
